A hip can become unstable when the capsule, or lining of the joint, becomes unusually loose. Such instability of the hip is a recognized cause of groin and hip pain. Dr. Bharam prefers arthroscopy to more extensive surgery when the hip capsule needs repair.
During the arthroscopic procedure, Dr. Bharam surgically brings the capsule of the joint closer to the bones of the joint, making the joint tighter.
