Srino Bharam, MD, MBA is dedicated to hip and groin preservation and your orthopaedic well-being. He wants everyone to be as active and healthy as they can be – and he knows the hip and groin are central to a healthy, active life.
Dr. Bharam is an internationally recognized orthopaedic specialist. He is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, with subspecialty certification in sports medicine. He has achieved master-level experience in treating the hip.
Dr. Bharam was trained by world-renowned hip surgeon, Dr. Marc Philippon and also received training at Harvard Massachusetts General Hospital, where he received the Harvard Partners in Excellence Award for Orthopaedic Trauma Service.

Dr. Bharam is a prolific author and investigator, with numerous articles appearing in peer-reviewed journals. Dr. Bharam has served as guest editor for both the Orthopaedic Clinics of North America and Clinics of Sports Medicine.
Dr. Bharam also operates at free standing ambulatory surgical centers.
Advocating Less Invasive Treatments
Dr. Bharam takes a minimally invasive approach whenever possible, and specializes in advanced arthroscopic treatments. One of the first surgeons to be fellowship trained in hip arthroscopy and sports related hip disorders, Dr. Bharam is now the Director of Hip Arthroscopy and Orthopaedic Research at Saint Vincent’s Hospital, Manhattan. He also serves as Master instructor for the Arthroscopy Association of North America, where he has been on the faculty since 2010. He is a faculty member of the International Society of Hip Arthroscopy and has been a highlighted speaker for the Society. He is also a member of the International Society for Hip Arthroscopy.
Since 2001, Dr. Bharam has routinely served as an instructor at national and international courses on hip arthroscopy for practicing orthopaedic surgeons.
Dr. Bharam’s Process
Dr. Bharam goes through the following careful evaluation process with each patient:
- Performs a full medical history and a comprehensive physical exam
- Investigates any related issues, conditions or illnesses
- Develops a detailed diagnosis
- Consults with a multi-disciplinary team of experts as needed
- Works with the patient to create an individualized treatment plan that’s as conservative as possible
- Whenever possible, recommends modalities such as rest, activity modification, injections and/or physical therapy before considering surgery
- Provides agreed-upon non-operative or operative treatment
- Uses advanced, minimally-invasive procedures whenever possible
